St Helens Security Services

The Challenge

Management struggled to monitor progress of shifts and spent a lot of time collating and analysing reports. Reporting was done using a paper-based system, often inaccurate or outdated information, and security officers spent unecessary time travelling as addresses were not in an efficient order. Safety was a concern; lone workers are at increased risk and at busy times, a walkie-talkie system meant delays in communication.

“The old system was time consuming and inefficient. It’s difficult to know where the guys are out on their rounds. I don’t know how shifts are progressing or if the security officers are safe” – Christine Sudworth, Daytime Coordinator

The Implementation

-Coordinators and security officers trained on system use by DriverNet employees.

Security officers download app for use on mobile phones.

Coordinators use management portal to optimise routes and
track security officers.

The Result

Safety on rounds has improved massively with an SOS feature and live tracking, which also means that coordinators can easily monitor shift progress.

The app removes the need for paperwork; reports can be uploaded to the app with date and time stamped photographic evidence, reducing time between incident and reporting.

DriverNet makes my job easier because loading the routes is much easier and we can track the guys out on their rounds, which helps me to know how a shift is progressing
